NEURAL THERAPY

GENERAL INFORMATION

Neural Therapy is a brilliant form of treatment that is simple, safe and very effective. We use neural therapy to help restore the normal function of the autonomic nervous system. The autonomic nervous system (ANS) (or visceral nervous system) is the part of the peripheral nervous system that acts as a control system, maintaining balance in the body. These activities are generally performed without conscious control. The ANS affects heart rate, digestion, respiration rate, salivation, perspiration, diameter of the pupils, micturition (urination), hormonal glands, and sexual arousal. Whereas most of its actions are involuntary, some, such as breathing, work in tandem with the conscious mind.

Neural Therapy treats blockages to healing by eliminating “interference” fields in the body. The most common interference field is produced by simple scars in the body. When we develop a scar from an accident or from a surgical procedure, the tiny nerves in the scar tissue can later send abnormal nerve impulses to the rest of body. These abnormal nerve impulses from an abnormal part of the body are called “interference” focus or field. This interference field may lead to pain or dysfunctional illness near or distant to the site of the interference field itself. Surprisingly, we have seen nearly miraculous clinical results from treating even small scars that occurred many decades before.
The most common method of treating interference fields involves the injection of local anesthetics directly into a scar that has an interference field:

1.scars,
2.trigger points,
3.acupuncture points,
4.tendon and ligament insertions,
5.peripheral nerves,
6.autonomic ganglia,
7.the epidural space,
8.and other tissues.

Here at the Chung Institute we have developed an advanced form of Neural therapy that is rarely available in the world. We use a combination of ear acupuncture, laser acupuncture, and autonomic response testing to obtain results that is unsurpassed in most pain centers.

Although neural therapy is not that common here in the United States, it is widely used in Europe, especially in Germany. Neural Therapy has its origins in numerous discoveries throughout medical history which furthered understanding of pain, cutaneous reflexes, local anesthetics, and the autonomic nervous system.

The origin of Neural Therapy is most often credited to Ferdinand and Walter Huneke. These brothers treated their sister who had been suffering from severe intractable migraines using Procaine (also known as Novocaine).

We have been very successful in treating patients who have “tried everything” and those who have been told that their symptoms are “incurable”. We thrive on also treating patients who have “nowhere to turn to” and were told by other healthcare providers that they have to “just live with it.”
